Acoustical Performance

In situations where acoustic performance is critical, a fabric’s job is not to absorb sound itself, but to allow sound absorbing products behind the fabric to do their best work (see image below). The fabric should never impede, or reflect sound, before it can travel to the absorbing product behind it. All surfaces, fabrics included, reflect sound waves to some extent. The least reflective products work the best as finishes for acoustic applications.

With an NRC rating of .90 , Our fabric absorbs up to 85% of sound waves that hit it, making it ideal for use in walls, ceilings, and Acoustic panels. This can help to create a quieter, more peaceful environment in any space.

I consulted with Studio Acoustics for a room that I'm planning to build. Even though I have a good grasp on room acoustics, meeting up with them was an eye-opener! The owner is a very knowledgeable person and I did get to demo with them. The advice is very sound and the quality of their products and materials used are top notch! They also have some essential products like custom scatter plates(slats) and they also make super chunks( tri corner bass traps) in addition to panel stands and gobos! As far as I know, they're the only ones that have custom made slats and certainly are the only ones making super chunks as of this review date.
