Product Information
Acoustic panels are designed to absorb sound waves, reducing reverberation and echo within a space. They are typically made from sound-absorbing materials like foam, mineral wool, or fabric-wrapped panels.
It depends! Different panels excel at absorbing different frequencies. For low rumbles, thicker panels like bass traps are your best bet. For high-pitched chatter, thinner Acoustic panels work wonders. We have handy buying guides and product descriptions to help you choose.
Choosing the right acoustic panels depends on several factors, including:
- The size and shape of your room.
- The intended use of the space (e.g., home studio, office, theater).
- The specific sound issues you are addressing (e.g., reverberation, echo, noise transmission).
We recommend consulting our product descriptions and contacting our support team for personalized recommendations.
Acoustic panels are designed to improve sound quality within a room by absorbing sound waves and reducing reverberation. Soundproofing materials, on the other hand, are used to block sound from entering or exiting a room.
- Absorption: Reduces sound energy by converting it into heat, minimizing echo and reverberation.
- Diffusion: Scatters sound waves, creating a more even and natural sound field.
Not entirely. They significantly reduce noise, but complete soundproofing involves more extensive measures like wall insulation. However, our panels can make a dramatic difference in most situations.
Bass traps are designed to absorb low-frequency sound waves, which tend to accumulate in corners. They are essential for controlling bass buildup and improving overall sound clarity.
The number of panels required depends on the room’s dimensions and desired acoustic performance. We offer consultation services to help you determine the optimal coverage.

- Screws or mounting clips.
- Suspension systems for ceiling panels.
We also offer installation services in select areas. Contact us for more details.
Most definitely! Our panels are designed for easy DIY installation. We provide clear instructions and even have helpful video tutorials to guide you through the process. Plus, if you get stuck, our friendly customer support team is just a call or email away.
Optimal placement depends on the specific issues you’re addressing. Generally, placing panels at first reflection points (where sound bounces off surfaces) is effective. For detailed guidance, consider our consultation services.
Most acoustic panels require minimal maintenance. Regularly dusting or vacuuming them is sufficient to keep them clean.
Returns & Warranty
We want you to be happy with your purchase, but due to the custom nature of some of our panels, returns are not accepted for custom-made orders. However, for standard panels, you can return them within a day of delivery for a refund, subject to a 30% restocking fee and the cost of return shipping. Please note that you’ll be responsible for any damage caused during return shipping.
We offer a 2 days return policy for unused and undamaged products. Please refer to our Returns & Refunds page for detailed information.
To initiate a return:
- Contact our customer support team with your order number and reason for return.
- We will provide you with a return authorization and instructions.
- Pack the items securely and ship them back to us.
Return shipping costs are typically the responsibility of the customer, unless the return is due to a defect or error on our part.
We stand behind our products! Your Studio Acousticis panels are covered for 3 years against manufacturing defects and material flaws. We’ll gladly replace or repair any faulty panels within this period.
Normal wear and tear, accidental damage, improper installation, and modifications are not covered. We’re happy to help troubleshoot installation issues, but any damage caused by incorrect mounting or use is your responsibility.
Technical Questions
The NRC is a measure of how much sound a material absorbs. An NRC of 1.0 means the material absorbs 100% of the sound, while 0.0 means it absorbs none.
Reverberation time (RT60) is the time it takes for sound to decay by 60 dB in a room. Acoustic panels reduce RT60 by absorbing sound waves, resulting in a clearer and more controlled sound environment.
Sound transmission loss (STL) measures how effectively a material blocks sound transmission. Higher STL values indicate better soundproofing performance.
General Questions
Acoustic panels absorb sound to reduce echo and reverberation, making the sound clearer. Diffusers scatter sound waves to maintain liveliness while still improving sound quality. Use panels to control unwanted reflections and diffusers to create a more spacious sound.
Acoustic panels are generally denser and more effective at absorbing a wider range of frequencies compared to acoustic foam. While foam can help with high-frequency reflections, panels often offer better overall sound control and can be more aesthetically pleasing.
Acoustic panels primarily target mid and high-frequency reflections. Bass traps are specifically designed to absorb low-frequency sound waves (bass) that tend to build up in corners, creating a boomy sound. Often, both are used for balanced sound treatment.

Soundproofing materials are dense and heavy products designed to block sound from passing through walls, ceilings, or floors. Examples include mass-loaded vinyl, thick drywall, and specialized insulation.
Soundproofing is the process of reducing the amount of sound that transmits from one space to another. It aims to block sound from entering or leaving a room.
Soundproofing works by using dense materials to add mass, creating air-tight seals to prevent sound waves from traveling through gaps, and sometimes by decoupling structures to reduce vibration transfer.
